Image of CBGB New York was taken on halloween night in 98. I worked for years crafting images with music magazines in the 90's working at the birth place of so many artist was an honor.
Hilly Kristal opened CBGB in 1973. It is known for being the birthplace of Punk and as the famed venue of bands like the Ramones, Television, Patti Smith Group, Blondie, and Talking Heads. It continued to be the innovative home for rock till closing in 2006.

This image titled “Lee is Free” is an image that is very close to me. Thou you can’t see him in the images, all previous frames of this shoot my Best friend Lee Chilson is in the images. In fact he is hiding right behind the sign in this image out of site. With in a year of that shoot my friend took his own life. This image means so much to me on many levels. Opening on October 31, 1949, in downtown Fort Myers; The Snack House was the first restaurant to have air conditioning. It served food for 40 years before closing its doors. My own grandfather once worked behind the counter, and my parents dined in its booths when they were dating in the early 70’s.

Traveling through the mountains is always an amazing journey with its road side motels set for tourist in the early days. This Image of a motel in Cherokee NC. The Warrior Motel was built by Jimmy Colville in 1960. Colville owned a construction company, which may account for the age-defying durability of the Motel's neon sign. Standing 30 feet high, the Native American’s neon tomahawk once waggled back and forth to attract passing motorists.

Image taken in my room I was sharing with a musician friend of mine in early 2000's at the famous Chelsea Hotel New York. I walked into a smoke filled room with a drunken rocker passed out in bed an saw that view out the window.
