**How to Style and What to Bring to an Interior Design Photography Shoot** As architects and photographers, we often receive questions about styling for photography shoots. This is one of the most overlooked aspects of interior design photo shoots. One common question from our clients is, "Do you bring the styling items?" The short answer is no—we only bring our gear and expertise. However, we don’t leave you unsupported. Weeks before the shoot, we request that clients send us snapshots of the property, or we can conduct a walk-through together. Snapshots are usually easier for both our clients and our schedules. We ask that you walk through the property and take cell phone images of the spaces to be photographed. Capture the rooms from multiple angles and email us the photos. Our team will review them and advise you on which areas require styling items like flowers, art books, kitchen items, candles, etc. A room can appear complete to the naked eye, but sometimes the camera lens reveals different details. One common mistake clients make is only bringing a limited number of items. By the end of a two-day photo shoot, we are often running around to gather more styling items at the last minute. So, if you think you’re bringing too much, you might actually want to bring even more. Still unsure? We recommend browsing through your favorite interior design publications. Look at what's being published in ads and editorials. Alternatively, you can visit our website for inspiration! Exploring our home photography and commercial space photography can be tremendously helpful. Whether you're aiming for a minimalist aesthetic or a full lifestyle photo shoot, you can find plenty of inspiration in our Residential portfolio and some of our hospitality portfolios. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us here. Thank you, and happy designing! Photographer, Daniel Newcomb
